The Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor is a Gold Standard certified reforestation project in Western Australia’s northern wheatbelt. The goal? To create a 200-kilometre green corridor connecting remnant vegetation with 12 nature reserves across 50,000 square kilometres.
Since 2008, over 30 million native trees and shrubs have been planted across more than 21,000 hectares of previously cleared land. These aren’t monoculture plantations—they’re carefully chosen mixed species indigenous to the region, creating genuine biodiversity hotspots.

The Yarra Yarra project delivers more than just carbon sequestration:
- Over 1 million tonnes of CO₂-e will be sequestered over the project’s lifetime by trees already in the ground
- 30+ species of conservation significance have been planted, providing habitat for endangered wildlife
- 400+ jobs created, with more than 50 Indigenous roles supporting local communities
- Salinity reduction in ground and surface waters across the region
- Biodiversity restoration in one of only 36 global biodiversity hotspots
